A Family Affair
September 2001

One of the most recent family-related issues in the Federation involved the Holly’s and the Dudleyz in a classic case of star-crossed lovers. Molly Holly and Spike Dudley were quickly becoming the cutest couple in sports-entertainment, but just like the Montagues and Capulets who gave Romeo and Juliet such a difficult tome in William Shakespeare’s play of the same name, the families of Molly and Spike were vehemently displeased with the union. Of course, we’re sure the immortal Bard never envisioned table dives and Dudley Death Drops, but you get the point.
Molly and Spike tried to bring two feuding Federation families together in harmony, but the result instead was pure combustion. Every time they tried to make things better, it only backfired, usually leading to one or both of them being driven through a wooden table-a tough price to pay for love. The naïve young lovers learned a time-tested lesson that hard way: in the canvas jungle, family equals friction.
Wrestling families have always been among the strangest you’ll find in any arena of human endeavor, and the Hollys and Dudleyz are two of the finest examples. Belligerent, sociopathic and downright weird, these two groups were bound to explode, and unfortunately for Molly and Spike, their relationship lit the fuse.
