Review: Nora Greenwald: Shootin’ The Crap
The former Molly Holly’s candid shoot interview is “an inspiration”.
by Mike Summers
Back on August 3rd of this year, I received an email from a former 2-time, 2-time (I’d better stop before Booker T kicks my hiney) WWE Women’s Champion and, in my humble opinion, the most inspirational wrestler (male or female) in the world today. I have to be speaking, of course, about the pride of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Nora Greenwald – better known to wrestling fans as “Molly Holly”. You think I’m kidding, right? Well, this review proves that it’s no joke.
She told me in the email that she loves this site and encouraged me to get a copy of her new shoot DVD called Nora Greenwald: Shootin’ The Crap. I did just that… and it is the best DVD I ever bought. It’s her very candid and honest account of her life, her career and her faith. At the risk of trying to spoil what I watched, like some other sites are known to do, I will only give you a few brief accounts of the presentation, which was so wonderful.
Nora’s family is featured in the DVD. They include her parents Rick and Bonnie and her younger brothers Luke and Chancey (one of them has a daughter Morgan, who Nora adores). They share their own personal accounts about her which are very interesting. She talks about how she got her big break in professional wrestling after training with Tim Mahoney, Roderick Strong and others on the independent scene. After a little seasoning from then-WCW standout and now-WWE agent Dean Malenko, Macho Man Randy Savage (former 2-time WWE and 3-time WCW Champion) asked her if she could train his girlfriend at the time Stephanie Bellars, better known as Gorgeous George (not to be confused with the 1950’s wrestler George Wagner, known as “The Human Orchid”) for a match with referee Charles Robinson, who is a close friend of Nora’s. Afterward, she joined the entourage of the Macho Man called “Team Madness” and became known as Miss Madness. She teamed with Savage, George and former AWA and WWE Women’s Champion Madusa Miceli and they raised cain like the nWo did.
She talks about her debut in the WWE, her love for her first gimmick of Molly Holly, her change to Mighty Molly and her transformation into the evil version of Molly. She does state that she hated her last gimmick because the writing team took things she loved and believed in and turned them on their ear. Finally, she gave the real reason why she left the WWE. Both explanations were very emotional, and understandably so. If you would like to know, I would encourage you to go buy the DVD at www.noradvd.com. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll be inspired by what she has to say. It’s truly is a side of the real Nora Greenwald as opposed to the manufactured gimmick of Molly Holly. She shoots straight from the hip and from the heart. Even if other sites have played spoilers, you can still get the DVD. It is a must-have for your home video and DVD library.
On a personal note, whenever I feel down, depressed or frustrated, I always read the little insert that comes with the disc. It’s Nora personal testimony of faith and a Bible verse that she shares with her fans. It’s like she talks directly to me because much of what she went through in the WWE is what I sometime goes through at work and in life. Yet, I always remember that God is always there to watch over me. Believe me, I get frustrated a lot. Yet, Nora’s words are such an inspiration and so is the DVD.
I give Nora Greenwald: Shootin’ The Crap my full endorsement and recommendation. It is truly an inspriation to me and it will be an inspiration to you. Again, go to www.noradvd.com and order your copy today. A portion of the proceeds from the sales go to beneift Patty Lockwood, daughter of the late Mike “Crash Holly” Lockwood, who died in 2003. Nora extends a huge thank you to you and the Lockwood family for your generousity.
